RECORDING and MIXING HOURLY RATE: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour DEMO RATE: $30.00 per hour (gig demos only) Local musicians are re-inventing themselves to get new gigs. Coming up with smaller group variations to accommodate the clubs who can't afford to pay what they have in the past. I feel compelled to assist all of you who have kept me in business for nearly 35 years. What affects you affects me. What am I going to do about it? This "gig demo" recording rate will be in effect until the economy starts to turn around. DAY RATE: $600.00 (based on a 10 hour day) WEEKLY RATE: $2,750.00 (loosely based on a 10 hour day, 5 business days in a row) Ok, I admit it's confusing since we work 24/7. So, any 5 days in a row. PROJECT RATE: (by quotation, my favorite) COMBINATION RATE: Example - Recording by the day rate / Mixing by the project rate (per song) THE FINE PRINT: Set-up time is not free. It's one of the most important parts of a recording session. The time taken is worth every penny. Clock watchers may also be verbally abused if caught watching. Anyone that complains about their bill may become musically impaired. A discount after a session is complete, is totally absurd. Not taking a break at the appropriate time may also cost you, the precious customer. Tipping the engineer is not expected but encouraged. Especially at Grammy time.
